Public Relations Officer
Muralist and Visual Anthropreneur
Venazir Martinez is a Filipina street muralist and visual anthropreneur whose work explores the intersection of public art, cultural identity, and diaspora. She is the founder of Project Hilabana, a public art initiative launched in 2018 that transforms urban landscapes into living narratives of Filipino identity. The project takes its name from the Filipino word hilabana, meaning “woven path,” and is anchored by the red thread symbolizing the invisible bonds that connect people, cultures, and histories—a concept rooted in her undergraduate thesis at the University of the Philippines Baguio.
Her murals, including Ani – Harvested Hopes in San Francisco and her involvement with New York’s City Canvas program, reflect the resilience, hopes, and dreams of migrant communities. Venazir’s work bridges the past and present, honoring the enduring spirit of the Filipino people through vibrant visual storytelling.
Expanding internationally, her art has been exhibited at venues such as Duke University and the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco. Through Project Hilabana, she continues to weave a global tapestry of murals that inspire dialogue, foster connection, and reimagine our shared place in an increasingly interconnected world.
